Lauzerte, a village in Tarn-et-Garonne, has been listed since April 1990 as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France". Located on the Via Pondiensis, the road to Santiago de Compostela listed as World Heritage by UNESCO, Lauzerte is referenced as a stopover on the way to Santiago de Compostela. Perched above the valleys and hills of Quescy Blanc, the bastide of Lauzerte was created in the 12th century by the Count of Toulouse.
